Sound Planning

Sound Ideas

-     Beginning with fade out of party sound as girl shuts the door

-       Diegetic sound as the girl is walking to the train station, footsteps x2, cars driving in the distance, distant sound of party, wind etc

-       Title sequence - sound of the train announcement, closing doors, sound bridge into music as train moves off, eerie music

-       Putting headphones in on the train - distant sound of the music playing in her ears - 2 songs - continues until she begins to realise the man

-       Sounds of texting are heard as she is scrolling through the phone

-       Once shots of man are shown, headphones fade out and eerie music begins again

-       Gaining tempo and volume as the scene become more tense (running away).

-       Shuts the door - sound cuts out, hear him shout and bang on the door, her fast breathing as she begins to calm - her getting up and looking at the peephole

-       Shots of him through the peephole, turning around, diegetic sound only,

-       Shot of his back and the ‘revenge’ girls - music begins again momentarily

-       Cuts to black screen - music fades

Shooting Schedule Day 1

The Ellington Kid - Dan Sully

Genre - Drama, Thriller, Crime, Dark Comedy Narrative structure - The strucuture of this film is not in chronological order as although it follows a conversation between two friends, Nathan and Beefy, multiple flashbacks are used to show the past events being spoken about in the present to the audience. We are aware that these shots are flashbacks as Nathan says 'you know the kid got stabbed last month', as well as the change in lighting and time of day used in the flashbacks showing that these two events don't take place at the same time. Two stories are shown in one, the 3 act structure can be found in both stories shown. The film is left with an open ending as we are left to conclude ourselves whether there is some truth to the story that the boy was telling or not. Representation  -  The representation in this film is used to fulfil many stereotypes to easily introduce us to the character in the film. Basic tropes are used to easily make each characters role in the ...
